Bend It Like Osborne?

This February/March James played soccer at the YMCA.  It definitely had its ups and downs.  By far, his favorite part of the game was then end when all the players ran through a tunnel made by the parents and then he got his snack.  James had a few rough moments each game, as almost all 3 year olds do.  But overall he talks about loving soccer and he really loves his trophy.  That's really what matters, right?

The coaches at the Y are awesome!  They deserve a ton of credit.  I can't imagine how difficult it is to herd a team of 3 year olds down one end of the field and back again.  Their philosophy was to make the 1 hour a week those kids play soccer the best hour ever.  So, no matter what is going on at home or school or in the little ones heads, they are having a blast when they are at soccer.

Playing in the dirt.

Look at that happy boy.

This was when his super fast soccer shoes started running out of power.

Ready for snack.

Houston Rodeo 3/14/14

We had a blast at the Rodeo again this year.  We were there all day riding rides, visiting the petting zoo, riding ponies, participating in shows, watching the actual rodeo followed by a Keith Urban concert.  It was awesome.  The kids loved it.  I don't have any pics of the rodeo or concert because I had a sleeping Natalie in my arms.  I loved that just as much!

Papa and Kiki and the grandbabies.

Waiting for the pig races to begin.

Our sweet friends, Ian and Evan, are the cow and horse.

Alyssa is the purple fancy dancer.

Jonny was Railroad Roland..hehehe

Take a bow.

Our Spring Break Adventures

Spring Break started off with a big celebration!  We went to Plano for Ryan's 1st birthday.  Hard to believe my cute little nephew is a year old.  These kiddos sure don't know how to slow down.

After the party we headed down to Galveston for a few days.  Spring break at the beach used to mean something completely different.  I believe I like this version a little bit better.  The kids had a blast at Papa and Kiki's.  We played on the beach.  It was a little chilly and very windy.  The water temperature was in the 50s, but my kids insist that if you are going to the beach you wear your bathing suits.  They had a great time and didn't even seem to notice the weather.  They also spent time fishing and catching crabs.  Papa had them paint the walls of his garden.

We ended the week at the Houston Rodeo.  The pictures for that will be on the next blog.  It would be way too much in one blog for beach and Rodeo pictures.

Headed to the water with Papa.

She may have gotten a little paint on her.

This is how they watched cartoons.

He was kissing the crab goodbye.

...and a Happy New Year

Every year on New Year's Eve we make homemade pizzas, have family movie night, and then have a sleepover in the living room.  The movie and sleepover started when Alyssa was little because she was afraid of the fireworks.  Now, it's tradition and we love it!
